The Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs who have an innovative business idea, can create jobs for Canadians, and can compete on a global scale. Applicants must secure a commitment (letter of support) from a designated Canadian angel investor group, venture capital fund, or business incubator. The program grants permanent residence directly. As of late 2025, the program is closed to new applications — only applicants with valid 2025 commitment certificates who submit by June 30, 2026 are eligible.
